Good food is pleasure.

Today is Sunday. We made the effort to get up at 7.30am and will continue to do that to get on a schedule. We start school in one week, it will be intense and we need to be up at 6.30am every morning to walk, feed Liu Ce, get ready for school.

Our big day was to take Liu Ce for a long walk to the park and then have brunch at a highly recommended spot over in West Lake. (It appears everything good, interesting and calm is over in West Lake). It was an expensive experience including the cab rides, but oh so worth it.

The restaurant was called Daluva and it was beautifully presented. Comfortable, relaxing and the food delivered everything and more. We both had the eggs benedict which was served on corn cakes instead of English muffins. It was accompanied with an incredible potato/onion side dish and a roasted tomato. The poached egg and hollandaise were perfection. Though the bloody mary's were a bit expensive, they were worth it and we added a pot of French pressed coffee. We truly did not want the experience to end.

The owner of the restaurant, Shay, who is half American/Israeli came over to our table and chatted for a bit. We were impressed by his attention and appreciation for us coming in. We also could not help noticing that his expectation of his servers are high and made sure that the attention to the tables was good.

It will have to be raman or simple sandwiches for the next several days to keep the spending down. Not that we have been extravagant, but we need to balance ourselves a bit. I hate denying myself pleasure, especially when it comes to food. I want to live in West Lake so access to all these wonderful cafes, groceries, restaurants and beauty are a walk and not an expensive cab ride away.

The rest of our day was some reading in the park with Liu Ce and wind down to the end of a lovely day. I have no more energy for much more than reading and writing.
